The decision to buy a netbook and to take it with us on tour wasn't easy. Its official weight of 1.2 kg equals 12 bars of chocolate and in the worst case you can't eat your netbook. True is also that you are dependent on power supply. On the other hand a netbook can be a convenient storage medium for photos and can make communication easier. Anyway, if it turns out that the netbook is more a burden than a benefit we'll send it back home.
Hmm, could I use the netbook to watch the FIFA World Cup 2010? :-)
Let's hope it will work well as the medium to our blog and you ... and somehow looses weight over time.

It is still too early to give good feedback. The only "problem" we experience today is the chiclet-keyboard that has 92% of a regular sized keyboard. We probably have to get used to the new size. The keyboard is in general very good. Well made keys with good pressure point.

Die Entscheidung, ein Netbook zu kaufen und es auf unserer Reise mitzunehmen, war nicht wirklich einfach. 1,2 kg zusätzliches Gewicht entsprechen 12 Tafeln Schokolade, die man im schlimmsten Fall nicht essen kann. Auch die Stromabhängigkeit ist nicht zu vergessen. Auf der Vorteilsseite jedoch könnte das Netbook als Datenspeicher für Fotos und bequemen Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten Pluspunkte verbuchen. Wie auch immer, wenn sich das Netbook eher als Last anstatt als Nutzen herausstellt, wird es einfach wieder nach Hause geschickt. Es werden sich bestimmt Leute freuen.
Eventuell könnte man das Netbook auch benutzen, um sich die WM 2010 anzugucken :-)
Gucken wir mal, wie es wird und ob das Netbook seinen Dienst leisten wird. Hoffentlich verliert es auch irgendwie an Gewicht.

Es ist sicherlich noch verfrüht, um ein Feedback abzugeben. Die einzige Erfahrung soweit ist die Größe der Chiclet Tastatur, die 92% einer normalen Tastatur ausmacht. Ich glaube, wir müssen uns einfach nur an die neue Größe gewöhnen. Ansonsten ist die Tastatur sehr gut. Die Tasten sind gut verarbeitet und der Druckpunkt soweit ideal.
