Flights are booked

Another milestone is achieved: the flights from Helsinki to Dushanbe are booked. On the 24th July 2010 we’ll say good-bye to Europe and head for Central Asia and the mountains.

Apart from many different ancillary services, Air Baltic offers the possibility to book your bicycles (30 Euro per bicycle and one way) during the flight booking process … very convenient.

One bicycle per passenger is accepted if the pedals are removed and handle-bar is turned.

Let’s see how that will work …

Air Baltic’s customer service kindly responded to my enquiry whether or not the panniers can remain on the bicycle. To my surprise the panniers don’t necessarily have to be removed. So we can check in a bicycle and its panniers with a maximum weight of 32 kg.
