Sarah had rabies ...

... vaccination side effects: fever, headache and body aches for a day.

In the last few weeks we have been receiving vaccines for different illnesses: every week at least one prick. Either you feel like Superman because you are immune against everything, or you suffer because of the different side effects. Interestingly enough we received most of the injections into one or both thighs what had never happened before. Is that the French style?

So what did we get? Some of the vaccines were a refreshment, some were related to our trip.

Illness Refunded by French Social Security Price
Hepatitis A No 46.50 Euro
Thyphus No ?
Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Pertussis Yes 28 Euro
Rabies No 3 x 26 Euro
Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) No 3 x 42 Euro

French general practitioner are not allowed to vaccine against rabies, so we had to go the university hospital (C.H.U.) and its "centre de vaccination" in Nice.

Quite a surprise was the price of the vaccines as you can see in the table (consultation not included). Vaccination is a big chunk of the travel budget.
